He was a professor of immunology in Indian university, when he developed a strong interest in the power of the immune system and how it can be harnessed. He made his foray into preclinical work in 1997,and he eventually moved into his field of study using animal models. In 2004, he moved to Delhi, set up a lab and initiated his clinical work, with required permissions. For 18 years, he has been doing exclusive dendritic cell-based cancer immunotherapy, helping countless patients in India and abroad. Currently, he lives in Delhi and Mumbai.
